▶ Many regions keep focusing on logistics industry for developing a better imports and exports.

1. Region: Hong Kong, China

- Concentrating on the competitiveness logistics industry, Hong Kong government implemented a "Third-Party Logistics Service Provider Funding Pilot Scheme". Currently, 173 projects are successfuly funded.

- The Airport Check-In System of Hong Kong International Airport normalises at 16 March, which has normalised check-in procedure.

🔹 The Hong Kong Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Cross-border Cargo Transfer Station will be accomplished in the second quarter of 2023, improving the economic cooperation.

2. Region: Shenzhen, China

- As of March 13, a panel discussion relating to the service of supply chain is opened in Shenzhen for accelerating the development of logistics industry.

- Additionally, there is various special conferences involving foreign trade, fixed asset investment, and industry chain discussion.

3. Region: Guangzhou, China

- The Express Intelligent Sorting Center of the Guangzhou Public Transport Group Zhongyun Industrial Park Baiyun Freight Station starts operation in March.

- Specifically, the center are equipped with 215 sorting ports, and the automated logistics procedures will involve storage goods, sorting, delivery, to loading for assisting the complicated business. Its daily production capacity will not be less than 300,000 pieces within 8 hours.

4. Region: Shanghai, China

- The Shanghai Shipping Exchange just released a weekly report on the export container transportation market on March 18. It has a good supply supply and demand fundamentals of different routes, indicating a rising trend of freight.

🔹 The 2023 Shanghai International Express Logistics Industry Expo will be opened in 2023 July. The major characteristics of it will be about Autonomous Mobile Robot / Automated Guided Vehicle industry exhibition and new energy logistics vehilces on attracting the professionals from different fields.

5. Region: Tianjin, China

- Through the 'Belt and Road inititiative' and the China-Africa cooperation, the business volume increases rapidly with the coverage of more than 10 countries in African market.

6. Region: Hanoi & Haiphong, Vietnam

- In March 21-22, more than 50 US countries visit Vietnam for exploring new business opportunities in under the annual programme of US-ASEAN Business Council.

- On March 18, Vietnam's Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commision of the State Council of CHina (SASAC) had a commercial discussion on reform and State-owend Enterprises.

🔹 Based on the statistics of Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association, around 20,000 automobiles are sold in in February, increasing 33% month by month. Also, in terms of green and logistics development, the third Vietnam Connect Forum 2023 was held for enhancing digital economy.

7. Bangladesh

Chittagong port to receive larger vessels

- The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) officially invited larger ships to take a berth in its jettis, to enhance productivity, leading to low import costs of cargo benefiting the consumers.

- On 19 March, the CPA indicated that there is a ship of 200-meter long and 10-meter draft will be able to take berth at the jetties.

- Further, the overall length of vessels is up to maximum 200-meter length and the 10 meter draft may be allowed to take a berth in jettoes depending on prevailing real time hydrological condition.

🔹 With the new length and water draft, 3,000 TEU vessels can transport to the Chittagong port jetties while bulk carriers will be able to dock with 40,000 tonnes of cargo.
