🔹DHL invest $4.77b in new Central Asia Hub launch in Hong Kong

☑ DHL Express recently inaugurated the expanded Central Asia Hub (CAH) in Hong Kong, marking a €562 million (approximately $4.77 billion) investment. This strategic expansion aligns with DHL's goal of establishing Hong Kong as a key international aviation hub.

☑ The CAH expansion includes a 50% increase in warehouse space to 49,500 sqm and a 70% boost in handling capacity to 125,000 shipments per hour. The hub now facilitates around 690 daily flights, managing 20% of DHL's global shipment volume.

🔹Shenzhen Airport's Focus on E-commerce Amid Surging Volumes

☑ Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport experienced a doubling of cross-border e-commerce volumes in the initial seven months of the year, with expectations of further growth in the subsequent months due to increased freighter flights.

☑ The airport handled 93,000 tonnes of cross-border e-commerce traffic from January to July, a notable 101% year-on-year increase. The addition of a Boeing 777 freighter flight in collaboration with Central Airlines and YunExpress significantly contributed to this surge.

☑ CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding and EPS signed a contract to construct up to seven 210,000 dwt ammonia dual fuel bulk carriers, meeting the preset requirements for ammonia fuel.

☑ These ships, equipped with ammonia-fueled main engines and C-tanks, demonstrate a commitment to achieving "zero carbon" operation throughout their lifecycle.

☑ The HCMC Department of Transport has taken decisive action by revoking the business licenses of 21 transport operators engaged in fixed routes, contract-based bus services, and container truck transportation.

☑ Thanh Buoi Passenger Coach Company had its auto transportation business license revoked indefinitely due to violations involving discrepancies in the submitted application documents.

☑ Korean Air denies allegations by Amerijet, asserting that any delays in the foreign carrier permit application are linked to a confusing arrangement between Amerijet and Maersk Air Cargo, not complying with the Korea-Denmark air trade agreement.
