It's the Power of extrans.

Extrans Global - FCL vs LCL & Container Types

Hello this is Extrans 🙌

You must have heard  many terms

while proceeding with ocean shipment.

We'll introduce you the most basic

Ocean Shipment terms !

Since FCL uses one container alone,

it has the advantage of being able to

transport quickly and safely.

However, even if there is

an empty space in the container

due to lack of cargo, you still

have to pay the shipping cost

of one container.

In LCL shipment, It is loaded

in one container together

with other shippers' cargo.

It is cheaper than FCL because the

shipping cost is paid according to

the volume and weight of each cargo.

However, you should be aware that

there is a risk of damage because

it is loaded with various items

from multiple shippers.

Dry containers are the most

standard and common container type.

Sizes are standardized as

20FT/40FT/40HQ.

Even though the available CBM & KG

are basically unified,

they are different depending on the

each shipping company or ship owner,

also  the road laws of each country.

So be sure to check with forwarder or

logistic team before proceeding !

✅ Then, what are the 'Specialized Type Of Container' ?

Reefer container plays vital role

in the cold chain logistics industry.

Such as perishable goods

or pharmaceutical products.

Open top container is designed for

easy loading & unloading of cargo.

Flat Rack container offers

a practical solution for oversized or

irregularly shaped cargo.

Commonly used for items

such as machinery, large components,

industrial equipment, vehicles,

or construction materials

Tank container is cylindrical tank.

This container is suitable for

liquid, gas or powder.
